Local coffee hut chain offering a classic beverage menu, breakfast sandwiches, & baked goods. They have drive thru locations in Clinton, Freeland, Oak Harbor, Anacortes, and Mukilteo (mainland).
Whidbey Island Bagel Factory sells the best breakfast sandwich on the island. Tyler's recommendation is the heart attack on an everything!
Nestled within the scenic grounds of Bayview Garden, Flower House Café serves food lovingly cooked and sourced from local ingredients. They are open daily from 8:00am - 4:00pm.
Cheery breakfast & lunch cafe with outstanding food (Try anything with the fried chicken!). They are open for breakfast & lunch Wednesday through Sunday 9:00am - 3:00pm, but sadly they do not accept reservations. The best way to eat here is to come early anticipating a wait, put your name on their waitlist, and wander around the charming town of Langley until they text you your table is ready.
Great spot for sandwiches, salads, and buddha bowls. They are open 9:00am - 7:00pm (closed Sun & Thurs).
Cozy neighborhood pub serving burgers & bar bites, plus freshly squeezed drinks, beer, & cocktails. They are usually a little less busy than some of the other restaurants downtown and the kitchen is open until 9:00pm (closed Sun & Mon). Rustle is a huge fan of their made-to-order burger for dogs, and the buffalo chicken is pretty good too!
This is our first recommendation for groups of 8 people or more. They are open 11:30am - 9:00pm (closed Mon).
Walk in an old-growth forest filled with lush undergrowth and western views of Admiralty Inlet. This is a great spot to see some giant trees, including a giant cedar over 500 years old. The park is open daily from 8:00am - dusk and requires a day pass ($10) or a Discover Pass ($30 for access all state parks).
Enjoy some time among the flowers in 10 acres of gardens featuring rhododendrons, azaleas, & companion plants. The gardens are open to visitors from 9:00am - 5:00pm seven days a week and admission is $10 for adults.
This park is great for history buffs and adventurists alike. You can explore the remnants of WWII military fort, enjoy the panoramic views of the Puget Sound & Olympic mountains from the bluff trails, or walk the driftwood-strewn beach (only at low tide). The park is open daily from 8:00am - dusk and requires a day pass ($10) or a Discover Pass ($30 for access to all state parks).
If you are open to visiting the northern end of the island (1 hr drive from Langley), we highly recommend Deception Pass State Park. With dramatic cliffs rising from the sea, freshwater lakes, beaches, old-growth forests, marshes, and tide pools, it's really a choose your own adventure kind of place. The park is open daily from 6:30am - dusk and requires a day pass ($10) or a Discover Pass ($30 for access all state parks).
Try some of the award winning wines from Spoiled Dog Winery while surrounded by the beauty of their vineyards. They are open Fridays from 2:00pm - 5:00pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 12:00pm - 5:00pm.
Climb the lighthouse tower and see the amazing view of Admiralty Inlet and the Olympic Mountains. The light house is open everyday from 12:00pm - 4:00pm and parking requires a day pass ($10) or a Discover Pass ($30 for access to all state parks).
Washington is one of world's best places to see wild orcas. Unfortunately there are no whale/wildlife tours that depart from the southern half of Whidbey Island, but tours depart from Anacortes (1.5 hr away from Langley) twice daily at 10:00am and 3:30pm. We strongly recommend reserving your spot early so you don't miss out!
There is no shortage of glass blowing artists on the island, but this is the only place we know of where you can watch the artists perform their craft.
Delicious! 10/10 recommendation. This is also where we got the bride's dad addicted to affogatos (espresso poured over gelato).
This is both a garden store & a general shop. They have a great selection unique products, focusing mainly on plant and kitchen related items.
The historic Coupeville Wharf, unique shops, & restaurants can all be found on Front Street. Some of our favorite things here include Lavendar Wind Farm, A Touch of Dutch, and Penn Cove mussels from Front Street Grill. Coupeville also has a ferry that goes over to the Olympic Peninsula.
Anacortes is about an hour away from Langley, but if you are staying on Washington for a few days, it's worth the trip. Most of the shops and restaurants are located on Commercial Street. Some of our favorite things here include Watermark Book Company, ELizabeth's Cottage by the Sea, and sandwiches from GERE-a-DELI. Anacortes also has a ferry that goes to the San Juan Islands.
